Best Practices in Energy Conservation

Mattapan CarWash is conserving energy by turning off a lighted sign that uses nearly .5 kwh every hour! (9/08)

Best Practices in Water Conservation

Chaps Services recently contacted the MWRA for free water saving devices which were mailed directly to the business, for free! (9/08)

Best Practices in Waste Reduction

Butterfly Cafe has begun replacing disposable dishware with reusable dishware such as cups, dishes and silverware.  Regular customers are encouraged to bring in their own coffee mugs, and they do!  The cafe is also also starting up recycling. (9/08)

Chaps Services has reduced their junk faxes by 50% and started purchasing green office supplies. (9/08)

Boston Duck Tours has conducted a waste audit of both their office and garage sites.

 

 

Best Practices in Sustainability Management

 

 

LEED Training session at CresaPartners

The Green Committee set a goal for all CresaPartners' offices to have one project manager and one advisor LEED accredited by the end of the year. Boston is well on its way to achieving that goal. They recently hosted a LEED training to prepare employees for the exam, and it was completely filled! (9/08)

 

Parthenon is providing powerpoint presentations to staff about "Parthenon's Sustainability Initiative" and is beginning to train employees about sustainable practices. (9/08)
