Green Mountain Coffee Roasters recently estimated that last year Americans used 14.4 billion hot paper cups for coffee on the go. Placed end-to-end, that many cups would circle the world 55 times!!
Did you know that the majority of e-waste is sent overseas to be recycled. The laws are lax and the environmental toll is HUGE. We are fortunate, here in the United States recycling is easy... Even recycling electronics!
Is your mini museum of electronics past getting out of hand? Ginormous brick like contraptions and the great grandfather of the ipod crowding your desk?
Put them to good use and donate them to MassRecycle where they will either be refurbished or recycled.
With September 1st looming large and a number of you playing the moving shuffle be sure you don't forget to make your move an eco-friendly one. Instead of dipping in to your pockets to buy new cardboard boxes, troll your local liquor, grocery and hardware stores for used cardboard boxes.
p.s- remember to recycle those boxes once you're done settling in!
